Across The Plains

You are currently viewing Across The Plains
Across the plains, the eagle soars, Majestic wings unfold,
Ancient stories, through time implores, A heritage retold.
In shadows of the towering pines, The spirits softly speak,
Echoes of past, in silent signs, The wilderness unique.

The rhythm of the drummers beat, Calls souls to gather round,
In dance and song, their lives complete, In sacred bond profound.
Beneath the moon, the secrets share, Of love and endless fight,
Endurance of the brave, who dare, To guard the sacred light.

Wind whispers through the canyon walls, Their strength in every gale,
Heroes from the past, in spirit calls, They march on without fail.
The river sings a melody, Of hope that never dies,
Reflections of eternity, In clear and watchful eyes.

With every dawn the sun appears, A promise to renew,
Each shadow cast, it bravely cheers, Warmth whispers through the dew.
In unity, they stand so proud, Resilient as the sea,
Their voices rise, both strong and loud, In timeless harmony.

Oliver Stone, a pen name, is an author deeply influenced by Apache wisdom and the natural world. Born in Silver City, New Mexico, his life journey includes service in the Marine Corps and a career in non-profit management. Stone's connection to Apache teachings began in his childhood, as his father was fortunate to learn from Tahoma Whispering Wind, a revered Apache elder, during his time at Mary Himes' Poor Folks Farm in Dry Creek. This ancestral link to Tahoma's wisdom ignited Stone's lifelong passion for Apache philosophy and practices. Drawing from his father's teachings and his own diverse experiences, Stone now dedicates himself to bridging ancient Apache knowledge with modern-day challenges through his writing. His work, including "Spirit of the Wild: Reconnecting with Nature's Wisdom," aims to help readers reconnect with nature, find inner peace, and live harmoniously with the earth, reflecting the deep respect for nature and interconnectedness central to Apache philosophy.
