Flames of the Spirit Dance

In twilight gentle glow, Whispers of the night,
Soft leaves begin to show, Moons tender, silent light.
Upon the hills so high, Stars weave stories old,
Underneath the boundless sky, Truths of time unfold.

Echoes of the past, In silent winds they sing,
Memories that last, Freedoms gentle wing.
Mountains standing tall, Guardians of the land,
Answering natures call, Reached by no men hand.

In the rivers flow, Timeless tales reside,
With the currents tow, Dreams and hopes collide.
Through the forest deep, Secrets kept so close,
In shadows dark they keep, Whispers no one knows.

By the fires burn, Old tales find their voice,
Legends twist and turn, In the flames, rejoice.
Dawn begins to break, New days promise calls,
With every step we take, Strength within us all.

Oliver Stone, a pen name, is an author deeply influenced by Apache wisdom and the natural world. Born in Silver City, New Mexico, his life journey includes service in the Marine Corps and a career in non-profit management. Stone's connection to Apache teachings began in his childhood, as his father was fortunate to learn from Tahoma Whispering Wind, a revered Apache elder, during his time at Mary Himes' Poor Folks Farm in Dry Creek. This ancestral link to Tahoma's wisdom ignited Stone's lifelong passion for Apache philosophy and practices. Drawing from his father's teachings and his own diverse experiences, Stone now dedicates himself to bridging ancient Apache knowledge with modern-day challenges through his writing. His work, including "Spirit of the Wild: Reconnecting with Nature's Wisdom," aims to help readers reconnect with nature, find inner peace, and live harmoniously with the earth, reflecting the deep respect for nature and interconnectedness central to Apache philosophy.
