Shadows of the Gila Monster

You are currently viewing Shadows of the Gila Monster
Whispers of the forest, Voices of the earth,
In twilight fading light, Spirits find rebirth.
Love like rivers flowing, Hearts with grace and power,
In moons soft glow showing, Blossoms greet the hour.

Stars beyond our dreaming, Light the path of night,
Truth within them gleaming, Guides us to what's right.
Mountains hold our stories, Silent yet so grand,
Tall they reach in glories, Lessons in the land.

Strength within the winds' breath, Wisdom of the air,
Past the veil of lives death, Hope resides with care.
Sunrise brings new meaning, Dawns embrace so calm,
In its light our being, Finds a sacred psalm.

Times river ever flows, Washing all our fears,
In its current, love grows, Holding both our tears.
Life in cycles turning, Natures endless dance,
In its heart a yearning, For another chance.

Oliver Stone, a pen name, is an author deeply influenced by Apache wisdom and the natural world. Born in Silver City, New Mexico, his life journey includes service in the Marine Corps and a career in non-profit management. Stone's connection to Apache teachings began in his childhood, as his father was fortunate to learn from Tahoma Whispering Wind, a revered Apache elder, during his time at Mary Himes' Poor Folks Farm in Dry Creek. This ancestral link to Tahoma's wisdom ignited Stone's lifelong passion for Apache philosophy and practices. Drawing from his father's teachings and his own diverse experiences, Stone now dedicates himself to bridging ancient Apache knowledge with modern-day challenges through his writing. His work, including "Spirit of the Wild: Reconnecting with Nature's Wisdom," aims to help readers reconnect with nature, find inner peace, and live harmoniously with the earth, reflecting the deep respect for nature and interconnectedness central to Apache philosophy.
